Data Recovery

We have discontinued the Data Recovery service and are no longer accepting new activations. If you have already activated the Data Recovery service in My F‑Secure, you can still request a data recovery attempt during the remainder of your current subscription period. Data Recovery service will not be included in renewals made after April 13, 2026. 

What is the Data Recovery service?

If your device breaks and you lose access to your valuable photos and documents, the experts at Ontrack will try to recover your lost data at no cost to you. You need to activate the service in My F‑Secure before any loss of data.

How does the Data Recovery service work?

If your device breaks and you lose access to your valuable photos and documents, contact F‑Secure support.

The experts at Ontrack will contact you and advise you where to send your device, at no cost to you.

If recovered, your files will be delivered to you digitally or on a USB drive within two weeks.

When can I get a free data recovery attempt?

You can request data recovery for one of your devices any time as long as your F‑Secure Total subscription is valid. The free data recovery attempts from Ontrack are limited to one per year.

You also need to fulfill the following criteria when making a data recovery request:

  • You have a valid F‑Secure Total subscription purchased from our online store, Cleverbridge

  • Keep the F-Secure app installed on your devices with the latest updates

  • Your devices fulfill the Ontrack terms and conditions for this service
