This detection from the F-Secure Security Cloud indicates the presence of characteristics or behavior that matches a known adware program - Adware:Android/Dowgin.
Adware:Android/Dowgin is an advertising module that is distributed bundled together with other (usually legitimate) programs. The advertising module is used to display advertising content and in the process, may also silently gather and forward details from the device.
More information on the scanning and removal options available in your F-Secure product can be found in the Help Center.
You may also refer to the Knowledge Base on the F-Secure Community site for more assistance.
Adware:Android/Dowgin displays advertising content to the users. This behavior may be considered unwanted if the user is unaware of the presence of the module, or objects to the nature of the advertising materials displayed.
The Dowgin module may also silently leak or harvest sensitive details from the device, such as its International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, location, contacts, etc.
F-Secure Security Cloud is a cloud-based threat analysis system that maintains a security rating for common programs, files and websites.
When an F-Secure security product encounters a suspect program or file, it sends a query over the Internet to the Security Cloud and checks for the latest rating available for the program (that is, whether it has already been rated as 'safe' or 'harmful'). Based on the rating, the security product may then either quarantine the suspect file, block it or allow it to proceed.
