Technical Details

This Trojan variant is a PE executable file that is packed with a custom-made file compressor. Upon execution, this Malware tries to download a file from the following website:

The Trojan uses the "KRSystem v1.0" as an user-agent ID and it accesses the website with a specially constructed URL. The downloaded files will be stored in the directory for temporary files:

  • \%Temp%\%random%.exe

%random% stands for a randomly generated name. If the download operation is successful, the Trojan runs the downloaded files afterwards. This particular Trojan variant downloads another downloader that in turn downloads the second level downloader. That file can download additional components and adware to the infected computer. The downloaded adware is Lop.com related.
