Technical Details

Small.DDY is an FSG packed malware that injects malicious code into svchost.exe. It does so by creating a new instance of svchost.exe using the malware as its parameter. After execution it deletes the executable file. The injected malware code checks for an Internet connection every 250ms. Once an Internet connection has been established, it will attempt to download and execute a file from the following URL:

The downloaded file is saved in the Windows directory using the filename: au.exe.
