Overview
The scammer uses the victim's family members in the scheme, or implies the victim's family members are involved.
When family members are used to recruit the victim, this concept is related to Peer Involvement, with the difference that the victim personally knows the family members or friends involved in the scam.
Sometimes family members are used as part of an Extortion Scheme against the victim, such as in the 8.2 Family Emergency Scam.
