Overview

The scammer times the scam to coincide with events or a particular season in the victim's context or locale, in order to build legitimacy and believability. Sometimes called "event-based scams".

Common timing-based scams include 2.2.11 Healthcare Enrollment Scams, 5.1 Government Fee Collection Scams, and 7.1 Charity Scams.
