Overview
The scammer uses flattery to increase the likelihood that the victim will go along with the scam.
Flattery can allow the victim to justify a circumstance that may have seemed "too good to be true" otherwise. For example, in the 2.2.9 Podcast Or Remote Interview Scam the scammer could shower the newer podcaster with praise as an "up and coming" star, while offering a paid opportunity to appear on a higher-status podcast.
Also frequently used in 3.4 Fake Recruiter Scams, and "muse"/mural scams (see 3.2 Modeling / Influencer Scam).
