Overview
The scammer claims a Celebrity Endorsement in order to increase trust or interest from the victim. This is similar psychology to using friends and family to "vouch" for the scheme, however different scams work with different endorsements. Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and other celebrities might be used to encourage victim participation in an investment scheme. Note that this Celebrity Endorsement psychological technique is related to, but not the same as, the Celebrity Impersonation Technique.
