HELSINKI (December 15, 2025) — F‑Secure today announced an enhanced cooperation model with OP Financial Group and several major Finnish banks, in partnership with Finnish communications service providers Elisa, Telia, and DNA, to speed up the blocking of scam websites used for banking credential theft. The model enables malicious banking lookalike sites to be blocked within minutes instead of days, helping reduce the number of consumers who fall victim to scams.
The cooperation brings together OP Financial Group, Nordea, S‑Pankki, Aktia, and Säästöpankki . Banks supply verified scam site data through OP’s central process, allowing CSPs to block access rapidly based on bank confirmed intelligence. Pilot results showed a clear reduction in scam victim numbers when blocking times fell from days to tens of minutes.
F-Secure customers will enjoy protection that works on any network
F‑Secure’s leading scam protection offering uses this new blocklist feed to strengthen consumer protection in a way that goes beyond operator level filtering. While CSP DNS filtering helps when a customer is connected to that specific operator’s network and using its DNS, F‑Secure protection follows the customer everywhere. F‑Secure customers now benefit from protection on any mobile network, Wi‑Fi, or public hotspot, anywhere in the world.
Banking scams move fast, protection must move faster
Credential phishing remains one of the most common scam types targeting Finnish consumers. Attackers typically lure victims to fake banking login pages through SMS or email, often impersonating banks or trusted authorities such as police, tax services, or health care providers.
In many cases, scam sites are hosted on infrastructure where takedown requests are slow or ignored. The new model closes that gap by combining verified detections from multiple banks with rapid CSP blocking, and by strengthening F‑Secure Scam Protection through the same shared intelligence. This raises the cost of fraud for criminals and reduces exposure for consumers, while improving speed and coverage as scam campaigns evolve.
“We are delighted to be part of this crucial collaboration, helping extend protection to customers worldwide further against banking scams,” said Timo Laaksonen, President and CEO of F‑Secure. “By using bank confirmed blocklist intelligence inside our leading scam protection technology and products, we can help keep consumers safe no matter where they connect, at home, at work, or abroad.”
