HONG KONG (May 14, 2026) — Global cyber security leader F‑Secure and Hong Kong-based mobile telecoms operator Hutchison Telecommunications (Hong Kong) Limited (HTHK) just launched a collaboration that will deliver Domain Name System (DNS) Security to HTHK’s customers. The service is offered under the name “AI Net Protect” as part of HTHK’s 5G Broadband PRO service and can be activated with no expertise or setup required.
The need for this protection is urgent. F‑Secure research shows that 56% of consumers encountered scam attempts at least monthly last year, yet only 7% are ever reported — meaning the true scale is far greater than official figures suggest. This global trend is reflected in Hong Kong, where the Hong Kong Police Force’s Anti‑Deception Coordination Centre recorded 43,212 deception cases in 2025 (nearly half of all reported crimes) with losses reaching HK$8.1 billion. At the same time, HKCERT reported 12,536 cyber security incidents in 2024 (more than doubling year over year) underscoring how widespread and increasingly sophisticated these threats have become.
DNS Security stops threats before they reach a device by using AI to analyse domain structures and traffic patterns to block malicious connections at the network level. By filtering adult and criminal content across apps and websites, the service also helps parents create a safer online environment for their children. Even if harmful software is already present on a device, it also cuts off the communication channels that malware relies on to cause damage, making it effectively harmless while the customer is on HTHK's network.
The service requires no app, no software download, and no technical knowledge. It works on any device including phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs, regardless of make or operating system. Once activated, protection runs automatically from that point on with no ongoing maintenance needed.
