Technical Details

DroidKungFu.A installs a malware component,, onto a compromised device. The installed component functions as a backdoor, and is capable of performing the following actions:

  • Executing command to delete a file
  • Executing command to open a web page
  • Downloading and installing an application package
  • Opening a URL
  • Running or starting an application package

The Trojan also obtains information associated with the device, and forwards them to a remote server. Obtained information include:

  • IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number
  • SDK version
  • Network operator

Further communication with the server is carried out by posting in the 'imei,' 'manageid' and root value fields.
