The virus infects a document when it is opened, closed or a new one is
created.
W97M/Proverb.A contains a code which is never executed. This code
checks the version number of Word and if it is eight (Word 97), it
would show an Office Assistant with a random message, animation and
heading. Additionally, this code checks if the version number of Word
is not equal to Word 97, when it would show another message box,
again with a random title and text in Russian.
The W97M/Proverb.A virus code contains a lot of commented lines in
Russian.
