F-Secure Virus Descriptions : Pretentious

NAME:Pretentious
ALIAS:Gdynia.680
TYPE:Non-resident COM-files
SIZE:680
ORIGIN:Poland

This simple and buggy virus would otherwise be totally unremarkable, but it got widespread distribution in April 1996 in a shareware utility called TXT2COM.

Pretentious displays this text:

                 Windows 95 may be dangerous.
OS/2 is the best operating system!
                 I'll prove it soon...

It only infects files on drive C: and will leave C: as the default drive after an infected file has been run.
