F-Secure Anti-Virus uses generic, heuristic methods to detect unknown harmful programs. These methods are not foolproof, and will miss some harmful programs while sometimes labeling clean programs as possibly destructice.

False alarms are especially likely if you are scanning all files on your system, regardless of the extension.

When you encounter a file labeled as "Possibly infected", send a sample to our sample submission address for further analysis.
