Beside replication, W97M/Eight941.A adds a password protection to all documents that are opened in Word when it infects. The password is:

W97M/Eight941.B replicates only when a document is opened. Otherwise, it is functionally identical with W97M/Eight941.A.

Eight941.C

W97M/Eight941.C replicates only when a document is closed. Otherwise, it is functionally identical with W97M/Eight941.A.

Eight941.D

W97M/Eight941.D is a modified variant. This variant does not add the password protection to every document. Instead, it activates its payload at September 1st and November 10th. At this time, the virus searches "C:" -drive for document files and adds a password to each file that it finds. The password is also different:
