W97M/Assilem.A activates on open of an infected document, and it then infects the global template and all documents that are closed after that.

Beside replication, the virus inserts a string to the active document when the number of day and the number of minutes are equal:

    Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points for
    using all my letters.  Game's over.  I'm outta here.

This is the same phrase that is inserted by the W97M/Melissa virus as well.
