Technical Details

The worm is a PE executable file 393 kilobytes long, written in Delphi. The worm's file is not packed.

Installation to system

When run, the worm copies itself as FUNNY.SCR file to Windows folder and also as STARTWIN.EXE file to the startup folder of a current user. Then the worm creates a startup key for its SCR file in the Registry:

[HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop]
 "SCRNSAVE.EXE" = "%WinDir%\funny.scr"

The worm creates the M.TXT file in the root of C: drive to verify that it has suitable access rights.

Spreading in e-mails

Before spreading the worm scans certain files on a hard disk to harvest victims' e-mail addresses. The following files are scanned:

Deleted Items.dbx
 C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ypager.log
 C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ypager2.log

To send e-mails the worm uses either the default user's SMTP server or the hardcoded list of SMTP servers:

The worm sends messages with different subjects, body texts and attachment names. Here's the list of possible e-mail subjects:

Poza de la mare
 Sex in camin
 Faza cu camila
De ce mor mai repede curiosii...

Here's the list of possible e-mail body texts:

Ti-am trimis ultima poza de la mare. Asta e?
Asta e ultimul antivirus. Ar trebui sa rezolve toate problemele.
Ioana, sex in grup in camin.
 Va multumesc (din suflet).

Here's the list of possible worm's attachment names:

The worm fakes the sender's e-mail address. It can be one of the following:

The worm has a nasty payload. When it scans files on a hard disk, it checks the files with the following extensions:
