F-Secure® Client Security™ 8.02

You can download the latest product versions from this page if you have a valid support and maintenance agreement with F-Secure as well as the required product key code.

If you have not received the new key code required for installation, please check that your support and maintenance agreement is still valid. For renewing your agreement, please go to the section "Purchasing F-Secure Products" on our Contact Information page.


Key Features

F-Secure strongly encourages all customers to update to Client Security 9.00 since the newest product version is faster, simpler, safer and lighter compared to previous product versions.


Version 8.02 includes the following features:
  • Improved interoperability with Web Traffic Scanning
  • Optimized real-time scanning of files on network drives
  • Better protection towards malware due to a more developed scanner manager mechanism
  • All hotfix packages since F-Secure Client Security 8.00 release

New in the 8.00 release:

  • DeepGuard 2.0 now queries over the network as part of proactive protection, which reduces the amount of user prompting. This improves accuracy and speed, as well as response time to new outbreaks of suspicious items.
  • IPv6 protection All modules offer protection support IPv6 (for example, firewall, e-mail scanning, web traffic scanning).
  • Neighborcast – increasing download performance
    The improved F-Secure automatic update agent can now communicate with other clients in the Local Area Network and share downloads with them.
  • Improved real-time scanning performance on removable drives
    With scanning for viruses and spyware unified, only one decision about the treatment of malware is required. This affects manual scans and scheduled scans.
  • A notification flyer for scheduled scans gives the user the possibility to abort the scan and to view the scanning report.
  • The scanning report has been updated to explain in more detail why certain files have been skipped.
  • Dial-up Control - Client Security now monitors applications that try to use the users modem such as third party dialers.
  • Cisco NAC Plug-in, previously called Cisco NAC Support now also supports version 2 of CTA.
  • Updated identification and removal of conflicting programs (sidegrade)
    Firewall "Open port" now offers automatic creation of firewall services and rules for quickly opening a new firewall port.
  • Includes all hotfix packages since F-Secure Anti-Virus Client Security 7.00 release

  • Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit editions will be supported by Client Security 9 which will be released on 30 Nov, 2009.
  • Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit editions
  • Windows XP Home Edition with SP1/SP2/SP3
  • Windows XP Professional Edition with SP1/SP2/SP3
  • Windows XP Media Center Edition with SP1
  • Windows 2000 Workstation with SP4 Rollup 1 or higher

Please note that when F-Secure Client Security 8.00 is taken into use/installed, version 7.2x or later of F-Secure Policy Manager is required.
