A vulnerability reported in the Windows Ancillary Function Driver could disclose information from kernel memory on the local system, if successfully exploited.
Microsoft has released a security update to resolve an information disclosure vulnerability reported in the Windows Ancillary Function Driver. The vulnerability was caused when Windows permits excess data to be copied from kernel memory to user memory. Upon successful exploitation, an attacker could be able to access information on the kernel memory on the local system.
The issue has been resolved in the latest update by correcting the way Windows copies data from kernel memory to user memory. Users are recommended to install this update onto their system as a protection measure against exploit attempts.
