These would support connected/autonomous vehicles (CAV), capable not only of driving autonomously, but communicating with other vehicles and infrastructure. While the full possibilities of such infrastructure are still being realized, the security risks can be considered and remediations investigated, today.
This report analyzes the security of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) networks that would be required in this connected future and profiles the types of attacker most likely to target them. With proposals for CAV testbeds across the UK, a broad range of threats are possible. It also makes recommendations for organizations to test for, identify, and mitigate the risks and attacks we foresee.
