F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange, version 7.10
We are happy to announce a new version of F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange.
This version 7.10 offers cluster support to enable fault tolerant and scalable installations of Microsoft Exchange 2007 to be secured. On top of this major change, this release contains several other features and is aimed for all users of Microsoft Exchange 2007.
Features of F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange 7.10:
- Support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1
- Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008
- Support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 cluster configurations
- Advanced virus sandbox and heuristics scanning
- Protection against grayware (spyware/adware/riskware)
- Improved manual and scheduled scanning
- Safe and Blocked Sender/Recipient lists in Spam
- Support for Sample submission
- Optional add-on feature F-Secure® Spam Control™
provides the following features:
- F-Secure® Spam Control™ filters annoying spam messages from the user's inbox transparently and frees time for productive work. F-Secure Spam Control engine detects spam based on different analyses of the e-mail content and includes multiple filter mechanisms for high accuracy detection. The Spam Control feature can be separately purchased from your F-Secure reseller.
- Proactive (Zero-day) protection against new viruses

Operating System Requirements
The product can be installed on a computer with a 64-bit processor running one of the following systems:
- Microsoft® Windows Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition with latest service pack
- Microsoft® Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition with latest service pack
- Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard x64 Edition
- Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise x64 Edition
- Microsoft® Windows Server 2008
Microsoft Exchange Server Requirements
The product can be installed on the following Microsoft Exchange versions:
- Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 Standard Edition with or without Service Pack 1
- Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Edition with or without Service Pack 1
SQL Server Requirements
The product requires Microsoft® SQL Server for the quarantine management. The following versions of Microsoft SQL Server are recommended to use:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (Enterprise, Standard or Workgroup edition) with Service Pack 4
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) with Service Pack 4
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup or Express edition)
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is distributed with the product and can be installed during F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange Setup.
Important:It is not recommended to use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition if you are planning to use centralized quarantine management and/or if your organization sends and receives a large amount of e-mails. Please refer to the manual to see the limitations of the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition or MSDE.
Other Requirements
If the product is installed in the centralized administration mode, F-Secure Policy Manager 7.10 or later is recommended. In order to administer the product with F-Secure Web Console, one of the following web browser software is required:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
- Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later
- Opera 9.0 or later
- Konqueror 3.5 or later
Any other web browser supporting HTTP 1.0, SSL, Java scripts and cookies may be used as well. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or earlier cannot be used to administer the product.
