NAME:Tere
SIZE:370
TYPE:Resident COM-files
ORIGIN:Estonia

Tere is a typical files virus. It stays resident and infects COM files when they are executed, renamed, deleted or their attributes are changed.

When files are executed from floppy drives, Tere first checks if the floppy is write protected by attempting to read and write back the boot sector of the floppy. The virus does not infect COM files longer than 64909.

The virus contains this text:

        Tere Maailm!

This is Estonian and mean "Hello World!"

Tere was found in the wild in Estonia in February 1997.
