W97M/Stun is a Word 97 macro virus.

W97M/Stun.A is a virus, that infects the global template when an infected document is opened. Then the virus infects all documents that are opened or saved. During infection, the virus creates a temporary file "c:\ffastun.drv". Then the virus removes "Tools/Macros", "Tools/Templates and Add-Ins..." and "Format/Style" menus, as well as their Spanish equivalents.

The virus contains two payloads. The first is activated at November, 22nd. At this time the virus will display a message box with the following text:

    Illegal function in modul 0xCB15C001

Then the virus shuts Windows down.

The second payload activates at July 22nd, when the virus will add the following text to the footer of each document that is printed:

    Microsuck Windows - How Do You Want To Crash Today?
     -= Don't Get Mad With Me, Get UNIX =-

This footer is removed after the document is printed.
