NAME:RPS
ALIAS:Fifty Boot
TYPE:Resident Boot sectors MBR

This is an Italian boot sector virus, which contains the text "RPS".

There are three closely related variants.

VARIANT:RPS.A

Contains the text "RPS", overwrites the hard drive after 75 boots.

VARIANT:RPS.B

Contains the text "RPS2", overwrites the hard drive after 50 boots.

VARIANT:RPS.C

Contains the text "RPS3", overwrites the hard drive after 50 boots.

Otherwise the virus is a typical boot sector virus.

RPS was reported to be in the wild in Italy and Germany in the end of 1995.
