F-Secure Virus Descriptions : Lovsan.F

ALIAS:W32/Msblast.F, Worm.Win32.Lovesan, W32.Blaster.F.Worm
ORIGIN:Romania

Another new variant of Lovsan worm - Lovsan.F was found on September 1st, 2003.

This variant is functionally identical to Lovsan.A with a few minor differences:

- it uses the file name enbiei.exe instead of MSBLAST.EXE.

- uses a different MUTEX name: 'muuie'

- DDoS attack target has been changed to 'tuiasi.ro' which does not resolve so the attack will not be effective. The address 'www.tuiasi.ro' contains the website of the Technical University of Iasi, Romania

- registry value has been changed to

  'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\www.hidro.4t.com'

- has a different hidden message in Romanian:

 Nu datzi  la fuckultatea de Hidrotehnica!
 !!Pierdetzi timp ul degeaba...Birsan te cheama pensia!!!
 Ma pis pe diploma!!!!!!.

Which translates to English as:

 Don't go to the Hydrotechnics faculty!!!
 You are wasting time...Barsan, the retirement wants you!!!
 F*** the diploma!!!!!!

According to news reports, author of this worm was caught in Romania on 3rd of September, 2003.
