F-Secure Virus Descriptions : Liberty

TYPE:	Resident COM/EXE-files

Liberty places the virus code at the end of the file, but the virus also overwrites the first 120 bytes with code and the following message:

         - M Y S T I C - COPYRIGHT (C) 1989-2000, by  SsAsMsUsEsL

A second variant, 2867 byte long is also known. The effects of Liberty are not fully known yet.

VARIANT: SSSSS

This virus shares some code with the liberty virus, but is different in many ways - for example it is only able to infect .COM files. Not yet analyzed.
