F-Secure’s Communications Department was awarded for the best PR act in 2003 The company’s PR Agency in the USA won two similar prizes in April Helsinki, Finland - June 4, 2004 F-Secure Corporations Communications Department has won the award for the Best PR act in 2003. The award is nominated annually by the Finnish Association of Organizational Communicators. The nomination was based on the enormous visibility the company gained during Sobig.F outbreak in August 2003. The prize was awarded to F-Secure’s Corporate Communications department in Finland, which consist of Jaana Sirkiä, Communications Manager and Henrietta Malmari, Corporate Communciator. The Finnish Association of Organizational Communicators awards annually distinguished PR acts and authors. This year the awards were held on June 3rd in Helsinki, Finland. The base for the PR act of the year award is a consequential PR act that has stood out significantly during the year. The Finnish Association of Organizational Communicators explained the nomination of F-Secure: ”As the more and more complex computer viruses and worms continue to spread, they are a threat to the whole society. F-Secure gained enormous global visibility in August 2003, when the Sobig.F worm spread explosively around the world. F-Secure’s Communications department is very professional, well organized and fast, and thus contributes greatly to the society’s security awareness by warning people on time.” The election was made by a jury that consisted of some of the top professionals in the PR industry in Finland, such as university professors, journalists and PR specialists.
