F-Secure placed in Visionaries Quadrant in the enterprise antivirus market

Sep 27, 2006

F-Secure, a leading provider of data security solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries Quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s Enterprise Antivirus Magic Quadrant*. According to Gartner’s definition, visionaries invest in the leading/"bleeding"-edge features that will be significant in the next generation of products and will give buyers early access to improved security and management.

The definition continues that visionaries can affect the course of technological developments in the market, but they lack the execution influence to outmanoeuvre challengers and leaders. It concludes that clients pick visionaries for best-of-breed features, and in the case of small vendors, they may enjoy more personal attention.

"We consider our positioning in the visionaries quadrant by Gartner as confirmation of F-Secure’s ability to interpret the data security market accurately and bring solutions that add innovation and long term value to our customers," said Risto Siilasmaa, President and CEO of F-Secure. "We intend to continue to prove again and again that good ideas and their timely execution count more than scale or marketing hype. Key to this is our strong emphasis in delivering such award-winning software as F-Secure Client Security and such technologies as F-Secure BlackLight, and the enhanced HIPS feature, F-Secure DeepGuard in our forthcoming consumer product, F-Secure Internet Security 2007."
