What’s this all about?
We’re not really only about Linux, but since we’ve been doing mostly Linux stuff lately (with some FreeBSD on the side), we’re commonly known as “the Linux team” within the company.
We’re a small but versatile team in a crowded room in the F-Secure headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. Our main product currently is F-Secure Linux Server Security, a suite that integrates on-access virus checking (using the same renowned scanning engines and virus databases as our Windows products), integrity checking and firewall configuration, with the ability to centrally managed a large number of hosts using F-Secure Policy Manager. But we also dabble some with doing malware scanning suites for OEM customers that, for example, build different virus-scanning appliance boxes.
Our aim with this blog is to get an opportunity to write about the things that we care about, which quite often turns out to be Linux stuff. We deal with a lot of different interesting scenarios when making our products, working with our customers and our support teams, and sometime have an urge to share our experiences with the rest of the world. Although our products are anti-virus solutions, we probably won’t write much about viruses as such, as the people at our Security Labs already does a great job with that.
The standard corporate blog disclaimer applies: anything expressed here are purely the opinions of the individual team members, which may or may not be same as those of F-Secure Corporation.
