[15078] Hibernation not working after product installation
Summary
This article provides information about the following issue in F-Secure Internet Security 2010: Windows hibernation is not working after installing the product.
Problem description
You have installed the product successfully on your computer, but after the installation you notice that hibernation is not working anymore. It is possible that the combination of F-Secure Internet Security 2010 and Microsoft Office may cause Windows hibernation to no longer work correctly.
Solution
To resolve the issue, exclude the Microsoft Office directory from real-time scanning:
- To open the product, select one of the following options:
- In Windows XP or Vista: click the Show hidden icons icon to show the Windows system tray icons and double-click the product status icon.
- In Windows 7: click the caret to show the Windows sytem tray icons and double-click the product status icon.
- On the main page, click Settings.
- Select Computer > Virus and spyware scanning:

- Click Open excluded items list.
- Click the Objects tab.
- Select the Exclude objects (files, folders...) checkbox:

- Click Add.
- Browse to the Microsoft Office installation directory. By default, the directory is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\.
- Click OK:

- Click OK to close the Exclude from scanning dialog box.
- Click OK to apply the new settings, and then Close to close the user interface.
