F-Secure Anti-Virus for Windows Servers 8-series

PSB 8-series
Engines in the above listed F-Secure products will no longer receive updates after 31.12.2011.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER 1.1.2012 IF I HAVEN'T UPGRADED TO THE NEWEST VERSION?
In the evening of 31.12.2011 the databases will be removed from F-Secure distribution channels, no new detections will be added and no false positives will be handled for any of the products listed above. The detection levels will deteriorate quite quickly for new malware. Active window of a typical malware these days is less than a week. This means that in order to provide reactive protection already during the active period an antivirus engine needs to be updated at least daily. After 31.12.2011 hosts using any of the product versions listed above are no longer protected even if the product keeps on running.
No extensions are possible beyond 31.12.2011.
Even today the 9-series products (Internet Gatekeeper for Linux 4-series) provide much better performance and better detection levels so there should be no reason for anyone to delay upgrading to the 9 series.
Those customers who have valid support and maintenance agreement with F-Secure are entitled to complimentary product updates, which can be downloaded from our website.
