Hoax Warnings

In August 2004 a marketing campaign for new Resident Evil game sent SMS messages to people that claim that their phone is infected with T-Virus and directing users to the marketing website.

This case is a hoax, there is no T-Virus and the SMS messages are just harmless text that trick people into visiting the game site.

The T-Virus hoax messages contain following text:

  Outbreak: I'm infecting you with T-Virus My code is xxxxxx
