Hoax Warnings

There appeared numerous warning messages about ELFBOWL.EXE and FROGPULT.EXE that are infected with a dangerous virus. These warnings state that these executables arrive as e-mail attachments and that they are infected with a virus that will activate its payload on 25th of December or on 1st of January 2000.

We checked several samples of these files we received and found no infection in them. But there's a threat that someone purposely or unintentionally spreads these programs infected with a virus or substutute them with a trojan. Below we provide CRC and length of clean ELFBOWL.EXE and FROGPULT.EXE files.
