High speed virus and content scanning in a corporate network
Viruses can enter an organisations network in a number of ways. E-mail is known to be the most common way of spreading viruses, but many websites currently contain programs with harmful and malicious content. For example, the recent vulnerability relating to processing of picture files in the JPG-format could mean that viruses might be infiltrating your organisation via web pages or pictures in e-mails. End users can also download various files from the Internet, e.g. games, screensavers, music, applications, etc., that might contain trojans, viruses or other types of harmful code. In addition to viruses, spam and other unwanted emails lead to losses in productivity, security concerns and legal liability risks.
F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper for Linux provides a high-performance solution at the Internet gateway, stopping viruses and other malicious code before it spreads to end users desktops and corporate servers. It automatically blocks viruses and other malicious code hidden in SMTP, HTTP and FTP traffic. Residing between corporate network and the Internet, it stops viruses from entering or leaving the network. The product also scans POP3 email to prevent virus attacks through personal Internet e-mail accounts, or from ISP-hosted e-mail. A comprehensive activity log allows administrators to easily track actions performed by the program and take appropriate corrective measures. The activity log keeps a record of the origin, name, and destination of the file, the date the file was received, the identity of the virus found, and the action taken.

F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper for Linux is designed to run on several different Linux platforms and provides industry-leading throughput, reliability and security. Thanks to its flexible product architecture, F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper for Linux is suitable for any organisation, large or small. It is easy to use and implement, interacts with any firewall and e-mail system, and can serve as a transparent proxy. It also supports proxy authentication in all protocols. In addition, companies offering managed services, e.g. email and web services, can use this product to provide secure, clean content to its customers without investing a lot of money in new hardware and software.
