F-Secure has released a new product suite, F-Secure Anti-Virus Small Business Suite, to help small companies to stay protected by integrating desktop firewall and intrusion prevention with antivirus for workstations and laptops.
Small companies typically do not have the resources or time to keep abreast of the latest security advice and virus outbreaks. Nonetheless, they still face the same security risks as large companies with dedicated IT security departments. Network worms, such as the Sasser, that exploit operating system vulnerabilities can cause serious productivity losses for small companies even if their antivirus software is updated, but lacks a firewall. Antivirus software alone cannot prevent network worms from wreaking havoc.
F-Secure launched a new product suite, F-Secure Anti-Virus Small Business Suite, in May 2004. Targeted at the needs of small and medium businesses, the suite provides complete information security coverage package for workstations, laptops, file servers, and e-mail servers. A key difference to competing solutions is that the suite includes antivirus and firewall protection for workstations and laptops.
Compared to an ordinary antivirus solution, the F-Secure Anti-Virus Small Business Suite adds an additional security layer to tackle the risk of rapidly spreading network worms. The solution prevents network worms and hackers from gaining access to desktops and laptops no matter where they connect to the Internet.
F-Secure Anti-Virus Small Business Suite is easy to use, and has automatic protection and updates. Simple, low-cost administration and deployment through centralized management provide clear customer benefits to small and medium sized companies.
F-Secure Anti-Virus for File Servers eliminates viruses within a company's Windows servers, while F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange scans and keeps viruses out at the Exchange server level before they reach end users mailboxes.
