Following the successful launch of F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway, X-series in November, F-Secure is now launching the advanced and robust P-Series in March at CeBIT in Hannover. The P-Series available as two different models, is targeted at Service Partners and large enterprises.
As with its little brother, the P-Series secures networks against spam, viruses, connection-level attacks and hackers-right at the gateway. The new enterprise version also scans outbound email traffic for content compliance and regulatory compliance. The P-Series has been designed to meet the unique needs of large enterprises, universities and government organizations. Optimal scalability architecture lets you manage all agent gateways from a single master console. Automatic configuration propagation, centralized message quarantine and centralized reporting simplify maintenance and reduce total cost of ownership.
The P-Series offers all of the flexibility, scalability, customization and end-user control features needed in large-scale deployments. Administrators can define and enforce policies for any module. The same interface handles both inbound (spam and virus) and outbound (digital asset security, content compliance, regulatory compliance) messaging policies. More than 40 graphical reports and alerts give complete visibility to the enterprise messaging. Each user has personalized control over spam policies with end-user digests, personalized quarantines and personal safe- and block-lists. Administrators can also define messaging policies at the global, group or individual level to support the unique requirements of different groups of end users.
Next generation
The F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway appliances utilize the next generation in technology for email security taking automatic, corrective action using SMTP traffic control. Malicious connections are automatically blocked or throttled based on fully customizable mail traffic policies. The email firewall provides an impenetrable defense against a wide variety of network-level attacks thus keeping networks and email users safe while preserving network bandwidth.
Proofpoint's MLX Dynamic Reputation technology is the basis for the unrivalled anti-spam accuracy delivered by the Messaging Security Gateway appliance. Using MLX's machine learning capabilities, the spam detection module analyzes more than 200,000 structural and content attributes to accurately differentiate between spam and valid messages. Traditional anti-spam solutions evaluate only a limited number of attributes and are unable to decisively classify spam, leading to low effectiveness and a high rate of false positives.
At the same time, F-Secure's award winning anti-virus technology provides the industry's most accurate protection against viruses. In antivirus, where speed is of utmost importance, F-Secure maintains record response times and sets the pace of development meaning that the P-Series is an unbeatable combination.
F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway can be easily deployed in industry-standard cluster configurations to support complex or geographically-distributed data centres. High availability is assured by redundant power supplies, network interfaces and storage components. A custom hardened, Linux-based OS including an email firewall provides a secure runtime environment, which is fine-tuned for messaging applications.
