F-Secure Provides Content Security for Nokia

F-Secure took determined steps to build handheld security competence in the company long before the mobile security trend emerged. From the start, close cooperation with handheld device manufacturers and operating system vendors has been the basis of the F-Secure leadership in developing security applications that are optimized for handheld devices. The result is a portfolio of handheld security products that meet even the most demanding corporate security requirements in all situations in today's mobile business world.

In 2001, F-Secure and Nokia signed an agreement concerning the provision of content security applications and service updates for mobile phones using the Symbian operating system. Following that agreement, the world’s first high-performance security applications for Symbian-based mobile phones have now been introduced. The first family of security applications includes three products for Nokia 9200 series communicators: F-Secure FileCrypto, F-Secure SSH, and F-Secure Anti-Virus for Nokia 9200 communicator series. The whole product family is now available through F-Secure.

All three products have been specifically developed for Nokia Communicators in close cooperation with Nokia and optimized for the Nokia 9210i and the Nokia 9290 Communicators, while offering full functionality and backwards compatibility on the Nokia 9210 Communicator as well. The products have been tested according to the Nokia OK concept. The Nokia OK logo is the mark of mobility given to 3rd party products and applications, which have been tested with a specified Nokia product.

F-Secure FileCrypto for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series and F-Secure SSH for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series are also available through  Nokia Software Market, an online shop where users can customize their Nokia Communicators with innovative mobile applications specifically created for the device. The products can be purchased and downloaded from www.softwaremarket.nokia.com by either using the Nokia Communicator or a PC.
