Helsinki, Finland - April 1, 2003

F-Secure Corporation has been selected as winner in the Microsoft Mobile Solutions Challenge, a Microsoft initiative to reward creative mobile applications and solutions developed on Microsoft® Windows® Powered Pocket PC and Smartphone.

Mobile Solutions Challenge is a global contest that invited hundreds of software developers to submit new applications for the Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PC and Smartphone platforms for consideration by Microsoft technical staff and a group of external judges from HP and Handango. The winning solution was F-Secure Anti-Virus for Pocket PC in the category for Security and Virus Protection.

F-Secure Anti-Virus for Pocket PC is an antivirus solution that runs locally on the Pocket PC device, providing up-to-date and always available protection against viruses and other harmful content. The virus definitions can also be updated over a wireless connection, such as GSM/GPRS phone, WLAN or Bluetooth connectivity.

The European winners of the contest were announced to the public today at the ongoing Microsoft Mobility Developer Conference in Paris, France.

The EMEA Mobility Developers Conference is the second of its kind to be held in Europe and follows the first U.S. Mobility Developers Conference held on March 19-22. The European conference will highlight the availability of tools to enable the development of connected wireless applications for next-generation wireless devices. A vast audience of application developers, technical decision-makers and industry partners will attend, representing over 30 countries across Europe.
