F-Secure and Gartner Group arrange web seminar on mobile security

F-Secure Schedules Nov. 28 Web Seminar with Gartner Group Exploring How to Incorporate Wireless Devices Into Enterprises' Total Security Solutions

Helsinki, Finland - November 21, 2001

F-Secure (HEX: FSC) today announced a seminar focused on wireless devices in the enterprise. Being the forerunner in data security for mobile devices, cooperating with Nokia and Compaq Computer Corporation, F-Secure arranges a web-based seminar entitled "Incorporating Wireless Devices into a Complete Corporate Security Solution" together with research firm Gartner Group, on November. 28. Offered free of charge, it will feature John E. Girard, Vice President and Research Director in Gartner's research organization, and Ilkka Starck, Executive Vice President, North America, F-Secure Corporation.

Today's increasingly mobile companies are becoming more concerned with protecting information sent over wireless and Internet connections to remote and mobile employees, business partners and customers. This session examines the security issues, technologies and practices that will impact these mobile e-businesses.

The goal of the seminar is to inform attendees how to both minimize security risks and understand the process and technologies involved in securing ever-expanding corporate security. Specifically, it will answer such security concerns as:

  • Where does conventional knowledge about security fail when mobility is introduced?
  • What are the top threats to security and privacy in the mobile industry?
  • What will be the best practices enterprises should follow and what are the worst practices they should avoid?

To be presented online with a simultaneous teleconference, the core presentations, each approximately 20 minutes in length, will be followed by questions from the audience. Participants can ask questions both during the seminar (via web messaging) or live during the Q&A period. The focus is primarily on sharing general market and technology knowledge rather than product promotion.

The seminar will begin at 8:00 am Pacific Time, 4:00 pm GMT.
