F-Secure Corporation and Deutsche Telekom sign a world-wide distribution agreement

Helsinki, Finland - October 16, 2001

F-Secure Corporation (HEX: FSC), a leading developer of centrally managed security solutions for the mobile enterprise, and Deutsche Telekom AG (DAX: DTAG) today announced that they have signed a distribution agreement. F-Secure's security software products are integrated into T-Systems' solution "SecureIP". T-Systems is the systems house of Deutsche Telekom that designed SecureIP as a solution which offers complete secure remote access.

SecureIP combines Deutsche Telekom's Telesec Trust Center (Certificate Authority), TCOS (Deutsche Telekoms Smart Card Operating System) and F-Secure's product family (including; VPN+, an IPSEC network encryption software, Distributed Firewall and optional Anti-Virus Solutions) to provide organisations and companies a secure remote access solution. SecureIP is based on a three step philosophy of T-Systems; Plan (analysis and design), Build (implementation), Run (operate and manage) and offered via all sales channels of the Telekom as well as selected partners.

"The need for secure remote access has grown rapidly, as companies are implementing remote users and remote offices to adapt to their business needs. Our customers are demanding high-speed internet connectivity and a secure method to process transactions and facilitate communication," says Mr. Bernd Kowalski, Director of the Trust Center at Deutsche Telekom. Since 1994 Deutsche Telekom has operated a Trust Center, which 1998 has been certified to comply with the German Digital Signature Laws. "The Trust Center and our web-based authentication tools together with F-Secure Corporations security software products enables us to serve our customers better," Mr. Kowalski continued.

"As information security is a growing part of today's Internet world, it is important that the solution providers consider the security needs of the end users, and offer them a reliable and easy way to secure their connection," says Mr. Kimmo Alkio, Chief Operating Officer of F-Secure Corporation.

F-Secure VPN+ is a network security solution that enables corporations to extend their internal networks and remote access over public networks, such as Internet as well as to secure their internal networks transparently to the end-users and applications. F-Secure Distributed Firewall secures that telecommuters and mobile employees can safely tap their computers to any Internet connection and that corporate workstations and servers can be protected against internal hacking attempts.

With 40,000 employees and total revenues of about EUR 10 billion, T-Systems is the second biggest systems house in Europe. In addition to mobile communications, internet communication and network access, Deutsche Telekom has defined the systems solutions business as one of its four strategic growth areas. This new enterprise will be first to bundle its global expertise in terms of information technology (IT) and telecommunications. In this context, T-Systems will benefit from the long-standing experience of debis IT Services - a joint venture of T-Systems International GmbH (50.1 %) and Daimler-Chrysler Services AG (49.9 %) - and from Telekom's expertise in the field of telecommunications. The new enterprise T-Systems started up in Germany, and in more than 20 other countries, in February 2001.
