Helsinki, Finland - June 20, 2001

F-Secure Corporation today announced that the National Social Insurance Board of Sweden will start using F-Secure content security applications to protect its Palm devices.

The deal concerns F-Secure Anti-Virus for Palm OS and F-Secure FileCrypto for Palm OS, the latest member in the F-Secure product family for encrypting information stored in the memory of handheld devices.

The National Social Insurance Board of Sweden administers the social insurance schemes in Sweden. It is also responsible for the greater part of Swedish society's financial safety net and the extensive social insurance data systems of Sweden.

Hundreds of thousands of phones and handheld devices are stolen or lost this year alone. As Palm based PDA devices gain more popularity in business use, the importance of securing confidential data in the device memory is increasing quickly.

"The use of PDA devices offers clear benefits for us, but it also exposes us to evident new security risks. Confidentiality of information is critical for our operations and we simply cannot afford compromising security. F-Secure security products for Palm devices solve this challenge and allow us full benefits of mobility in our work without risking security", said Anders Nordlander, IT-Security Manager from the IT-department of the Swedish National Social Insurance Board.

F-Secure FileCrypto for Palm OS, introduced today, is a file encryption application that uses strongest available encryption to protect sensitive information in the memory of devices using the Palm operating system.

F-Secure FileCrypto for Palm OS completes F-Secure portfolio of content security products for handheld devices, providing best available protection on all major wireless platforms. F-Secure product offering now includes a unique set of file encryption and anti-virus applications for devices using the Palm, Pocket PC and Symbian operating systems.

Hans Wahlgren, Managing Director of F-Secure AB said, "We are proud to be able the offer our customers a complete portfolio of reliable content security products for securing all of their handheld devices, regardless of the preferred device platform. We believe that installing content security applications to all devices right from the beginning is the only way to ensure that confidential information is always protected. It is delightful for us to see that the National Social Insurance Board shares our view."
