F-SECURE ANNOUNCES FREE ONLINE SECURITY SEMINAR WITH GARTNERGROUP

October 24th Web-Seminar Highlights Security Issues for Wireless Devices

Espoo, Finland - October 19, 2000

WHAT
F-Secure [HEX: FSC], a leading provider of centrally-managed, widely distributed mobile security solutions, today announced a collaboration with leading research firm GartnerGroup to present a seminar focused on security issues for wireless devices. The seminar is one in a series which presents a step-by-step approach to mobile, distributed security by addressing major issues and offering pragmatic advice on how to avoid threats and ensure policy compliance. Additional topics range from proactive protection against viruses, secure broadband connectivity, and issues in policy-based security.

Handheld devices are being increasingly used to create and store sensitive personal and business information. Coupled with the increasing adoption of wireless connectivity to the Internet, wireless devices become a key weak link in the corporate security chain. This seminar investigates the best ways to protect these handheld devices and the confidential corporate information that is stored on them, while not interfering with end-user productivity.

The seminar will be presented online with a simultaneous teleconference. The core presentation--approximately 45 minutes in length--features experts from F-Secure and Gartner Group. This is followed by a 15-minute presentation Q&A period in which participants can ask questions via Web messaging.

WHY
Today's increasingly mobile and wireless enterprise is faced with growing security concerns as computer systems become more open and portable. Additionally, heavy reliance on the Internet exposes sensitive corporate data to the threat of sabotage. It is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure the security of an IT network. F-Secure experts will share solid advice on how to increase the protection of corporate firewalls, avoid distributed denial of service attacks, and ensure that all employees remain in compliance with corporate security policies at all times.

WHERE/WHEN
This month's seminar is scheduled for October 24th, 2000, beginning at 8:00 am Pacific Time, 3:00 pm GMT.
