Fujitsu Siemens Computers and F-Secure Partnership Brings Anti-Virus Software to PC Users

F-Secure Anti-Virus Software Selected as Standard Solution in All Fujitsu Siemens Computers Professional PCs

Espoo, Finland - August 21, 2000

F-Secure Corporation, a leading provider of centrally managed, widely distributed security solutions, together with Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Munich, Germany, today announced a partnership to make world-class anti-virus software available as a standard feature in millions of PCs. Starting immediately, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will ship F-Secure Anti-Virus software on the Driver & Utility CD included with every professional PC and LIFEBOOK Notebook.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers ships 4.5 million PCs per year. This agreement to add F-Secure Anti-Virus is a very important addition to our strong reputation as a security-conscious corporation," said Joseph Reger, Vice President Strategic Marketing at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Another key point in our partnership with F-Secure is cooperation in the 64-bit platform, the Intel processor development program."

Risto Siilasmaa, President and CEO of F-Secure Corporation, said, "The most recent virus threats have resulted in greater public awareness of the security issues that all computer users face. Delivering security software with every PC brings this goal a step closer, and we applaud Fujitsu Siemens' vision in making this commitment." Fujitsu Siemens Computers is expected to be one of the first PC manufacturers to support the 64-bit Intel platform with anti-virus from day one.

After the F-Secure product platform is installed, it will make it easier for service providers - ASPs and ISPs - to implement the F-Secure 'Security as a Service' outsourced security offering, providing further protection for computer users. "F-Secure products are the ideal complement to Fujitsu Siemens Computers' platforms, and we fully expect that this alliance will result in added sales stimulus," Siilasmaa continued.

The quality of F-Secure anti-virus products is ensured by the world-class R&D behind the products, together with the highest standard in virus research, and consistently ranking far ahead of rival products in competitive evaluations.

F-Secure Anti-Virus provides the strongest available defense against viruses and malicious code and ensures maximum system availability and data integrity. It is the only anti-virus software on the market to use more than one scanning engine within a single product. F-Secure is also one of the few companies to release tested virus definition updates on a daily basis to make sure customers receive the highest quality of service and protection.

F-Secure and Fujitsu Siemens Computers first signed a strategic alliance in October 1999. On the basis of this relationship, several joint projects - such as certified F-Secure SSH servers and clients on the Reliant UNIX-based RM servers - were launched in November 1999. Today's announcement represents an important step forward in this partnership.

In time, F-Secure intends to make all its products available for the systems offered by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Products available today include F-Secure VPN+ in addition to F-Secure SSH and F-Secure Anti-Virus. F-Secure VPN+ enables data traffic to be encrypted not only in a LAN-to-LAN environment: it also supports any-to-any encryption between clients, servers and gateways. This software runs on the Solaris, Windows 95, 98, and NT as well as Linux platforms.

Partnerships are a key ingredient in the corporate strategies of both Fujitsu Siemens Computers and F-Secure Corporation. The current agreement provides both parties with the opportunity to complement their own portfolios, expand marketing operations and work together with their partners on new innovations. The Fujitsu Siemens Computers Partner Program centers around three core themes: information, interaction and integration. Sales support, product cooperation, joint employee training and market research are key aspects of the two companies' collaboration. Fujitsu Siemens Computers, as part of the agreement, will include F-Secure products in the partner catalog and display them on the Web.
