Data Fellows Announces new versions of F-Secure SSH Tunnel & Terminal and F-Secure SSH server products

Espoo, Finland, February 23, 1999 — Data Fellows, one of the world’s leading developers of anti-virus and encryption software, today announces a new version of its secure connections software, F-Secure SSH Tunnel & Terminal 2.0.12. It will begin shipping in February. The new version of F-Secure SSH Tunnel & Terminal has many new features, such as secure file transfer (SFTP) functionality on Windows95/98 and NT4 clients, as well support for several strong cryptography algorithms e.g. Blowfish, Twofish, 3DES, IDEA.

F-Secure SSH Tunnel & Terminal secures TCP/IP networking in local and wide area networks. It provides secure terminal connections for remote administration. Secure file transfer functionality (SFTP) secures all file transfers between the client and the server. F-Secure SSH products are based on Secure Shell protocol version 2.0 which is being standardized by IETF

"F-Secure SSH has become the de facto standard in remote administration all over the world. Now the secure file transfer functionality between the client and servers even broadens the possible uses of F-Secure SSH. Old insecure FTP file transfers can be replaced with secure SFTP functionality", says Petri Nyman, product manager at Data Fellows. "Furthermore, F-Secure SSH tunneling functionality can secure all TCP/IP based traffic, which enables e.g. secure web browsing and email reading."

F-Secure SSH 2.0.12 ships as client and server versions. The supported client platforms are Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95/98. All common Unix platforms are also supported.

The price will be USD 75 per user for a 100-user licence. For a server licence the price is USD 495.
