Data Fellows Licenses RSA Encryption Technology for its F-Secure Product Line

Agreement Integrates Data Fellows F-Secure Product Line for Unparalleled Internet Security with a Proven Encryption Technology and Opens New Markets

San Jose, CA, October 11, 1996 - Data Fellows of San Jose, CA, and Helsinki, Finland announced several new products to its market-leading F-Secure product line and the signing of an agreement for licensing RSA Data Security Inc.'s industry-leading public key encryption technology for use in its F-Secure security software.

F-Secure software products provide strong encryption, cryptographic host authentication, and integrity protection for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX based computers. All F-Secure products capitalize on an RSA-secured SSH transport layer protocol which has stood up to the challenges of the most demanding customers since 1995 in tens of thousands of organizations throughout 40 countries. The SSH protocol is a proposed standard for Internet security.

Among the new products announced today are F-Secure SSH Server v1.3, F-Secure SSH UNIX, F-Secure SSH Windows, F-Secure SSH Macintosh , F-Secure VPN and F-Secure Commerce. Data Fellows, a European based company, will sell these RSA-based unmatched security products with key lengths of more than 1000 bits worldwide.

As part of today's announcement Data Fellows also introduced several additions to F-Secure product line. F-Secure SSH Windows and F-Secure SSH Macintosh will add Windows and Macintosh support to the current Unix platforms of F-Secure SSH making it a complete solution to cross-platform installations. F-Secure VPN connects multiple separate LANs together into a secure virtual private network solution over Internet with the same unbeatable authentication and encryption as provided in F-Secure SSH. F-Secure Commerce will secure financial transactions on the Internet.

F-Secure SSH Server v1.3, F-Secure SSH Unix, and F-Secure SSH Windows are available now. F-Secure SSH Macintosh , F-Secure VPN and F-Secure Commerce will ship later this fall. The price for F-Secure SSH Server v1.3 is $495, for F-Secure SSH client software $99/seat and for F-Secure VPN $2,495 with separate volume pricing available.
