F-Secure Internet Security 2010 - Better in every way

Automatic upgrade to F-Secure Internet Security 2010 starts mid-September

We always want our customers to have the best possible protection. That's why you now have the chance to upgrade to F-Secure Internet Security 2010 - completely free! The new version is better in every way, offering superior protection, enhanced performance and an outstanding user experience. Best of all, upgrading has never been this easy. So upgrade now and give your computer better, faster protection.

If you are an existing customer with a valid F-Secure Internet Security or F-Secure Anti-Virus license, the 2010 version will be upgraded onto your PC automatically. This does not affect your subscription period. As soon as the new update is available, the installation package (~70 MB) will be downloaded silently in the background. You will see the software update dialog on your screen and you can choose whether to install it immediately or postpone it to a later time.

Installation instructions

Note: Depending on your PC and the bandwidth you are using, the installation may take from 15 to 30 minutes. You do not need your subscription key for the installation.

1. As soon as the download is complete, the software update dialog is shown:

2. Select the Start the installation option and click Next. The installation starts. You do not need to do anything while the installation is in progress.

(Note: If you select the Ask again at next startup option, this same dialog is shown to you every time you start your computer until you install the new software. You cannot cancel the upgrade completely.)

3. Once the installation is complete, the following dialog is shown:

4. Your computer will be automatically restarted in 30 seconds. You may also restart your computer by clicking Restart now. Restart is required to get the latest updates. Your computer is not fully protected until the updates have been installed.

5. As soon as your computer has restarted, the installation continues silently in the background. If you open the main user interface by clicking the F-Secure Internet Security system tray icon, you can see that the installation is being completed:

If you do not want to wait for the automatic channel upgrade, you can download and install the 2010 version of the software now at http://campaigns.f-secure.com/upgrade2010/index.html

Note: If you have subscribed to a security service from your Internet operator, your operator will send you instructions for downloading the required software. You must download the software only from the location that is mentioned in the instructions. If you download the software elsewhere, it will not work because the software cannot recognize your current service subscription.
