F-Secure and PCCW expand their security service offering

Aug 15, 2006: Hong Kong’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprise segment to benefit from fully automated data security services

F-Secure today announced its collaboration with Hong Kong’s leading Information and Communications Technologies service provider, PCCW to offer fully automated data security services to the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise segment. This continues F-Secure’s collaboration with the company earlier PCCW has offered to its consumer customers F-Secure Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware solutions.

PCCW Business NETVIGATOR is a total solution for SME companies offering them a client-based anti-virus and anti-spyware solution together with firewall protection. Using this and other PCCW services, small and medium size companies will now get full protection against threats from the Internet allowing them to focus on their daily business.

Today small and medium size companies are increasingly vulnerable to criminally directed cyber attacks. For this reason, it is even more important that the protection of their computers is kept continuously up to-date and that updates are received in minimum time. F-Secure has a proven track record of speed, and the company updates its anti-virus databases on average 2,4 hours after a new virus is detected in the wild. This is significantly faster compared to the major competitors.

Organized gangs writing malware to take control over users infected PC’s continue to be one of the biggest IT security problems in Hong Kong. These infected computers are used to distribute millions of spam and phishing messages and as nodes in distributed denial of service attacks. In addition, a keylogger is often installed in the system to steal confidential information. SME companies must ensure they are protected against these types of threats so that they don’t run the risk of losing valuable information or find that their computers are used as tools in malicious attacks.
