F-Secure signs 100th Service Provider in Taiwan

F-Secure, the fastest growing publicly listed company globally in the antivirus and intrusion prevention industry signs first partner in Taiwan and enters first partnership with a gaming house

F-Secure and Gamania, the third largest online gaming house globally with a presence in four Asian countries, have signed a deal to make a custom security solution available to its more than 6,6 million online gaming customers. Gamania thus becomes the 100th Service Provider partner for F-Secure.

The solution provides first-class automated security services including antivirus, anti-spyware and firewall protection to ensure a trouble-free and safe online gaming experience for Gamania’s customers. F-Secure takes care of the hosting and maintenance of the service, which is monitored 24/7 from one of its global hosting centres.  The solution consists of multiple, fully integrated scanning engines, working together to scan files as they enter the system whether it is via an e-mail, Internet download or instant messaging. The scanning engines can be updated multiple times per day to protect against new malware. The solution also monitors critical system components to protect against unknown malware tampering with the system.

F-Secure has been following the online gaming industry very carefully and sees that there is a great need for a security solution to stem the problems of hackers and phishing scammers stealing game players points and online weapons and reselling them on online trading sites. For this reason it is important to have a flexible solution matching the complex gaming environment while not slowing down the performance of the computers.
