F-Secure aims for solid growth in Indian market
Apr 04, 2006:
Expansion on all fronts from service providers to consumers, mobile and corporate markets
Building on a firm foothold established a decade ago, F-Secure has
announced its intention to expand its presence and operations in
the Indian subcontinent. Already in February, F-Secure opened its
India subsidiary in Mumbai followed shortly thereafter by a sales
office in Delhi.
While F-Secure’s business focus in India has been principally
with enterprise customers working through a network of local
distributors and resellers, the establishment of a subsidiary will
support the company’s strategy to now also target consumers and
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, mainly by working together with
the Internet Service Providers in the region. Mobile Anti Virus
will also be an important part of F-Secure’s offering as the 3G
market picks up speed.
Speaking about the burgeoning Indian market, Risto Siilasmaa,
President and CEO of F-Secure Corporation said: “F-Secure’s global
strategy is to offer security as a service to our customers and we
wish to now bring this successful model to the Indian market as
well. The way to do this, I believe is to offer high quality,
reliable and affordable data security services to ordinary Indian
consumers. Figures from analysts suggest explosive growth in the
DSL market alone and we want to be there to offer those millions of
consumers a safe and secure online experience.”
