F-Secure and New World Telecom introducing a pioneering solution

F-Secure announced its partnership with Hong Kong-based New World Telecommunications Ltd (NWT) to launch the pioneering product PC Defense, an easy-to-use and flexible managed security service. The product, which includes a web-based admin portal, is exclusively designed for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

With its user-friendly interfaces, automatic updating function and simple installation PC Defense provides a one-stop-shop for SMEs looking for affordable, reliable and responsive protection against new viruses and other computer threats. A dedicated support hotline is also exclusively set up for all PC Defense users.

Speaking about the partnership, York Mok, Vice President of Marketing, NWT said: "The partnership signifies an extension of NWT's corporate strategy in enhancing its next generation IP and telecom services and enriching its value added services to its customers. What's more, PC Defense, a world-class computer security tool, is being integrated with NWT's broadband service, helping to differentiate our broadband service as a Secure Internet Connection with high-speed connectivity and round-the-clock security, yet hassle free."

Jari Heinonen, Director of Asia Pacific, F-Secure, continued: "A research house recently predicted that 40% of SMEs that manage their own network security and use Internet for more than e-mail will experience a successful Internet attack this year, and more than half of them will not know that they were attacked. The needs of IT security change continuously which in turn place great demands on enterprises to increase know-how, resources and budgets to cover maintenance and upkeep. PC Defense enables SMEs to ensure cost efficient security services, which they presently lack."
